A Little Blue Planet
Clean fresh water is an essential ingredient for most life. Almost 1.1 billion people lack access to water whilst an additional 2.7 billion experience water scarcity for at least one month a year. By 2025, two-thirds of the world's population may be facing water shortages. Whilst our demands for fresh water are increasing, our Little Blue Planet is drying up.
The inspiration for creating our story A Little Blue Planet is our beautiful Earth, which from space looks like a blue marble with white swirls. Our planet is covered mainly with water and people often have no idea that 70% of the oxygen that we breathe comes actually from the Ocean! We take water for granted not realising how important it is for our lives. That’s why it’s really important that we finally do something to help.
We wanted to give a face to our planet and show her sadness. The cracks on some of the images represent water shortages that so many places suffer from. To create these makeup looks we used vegan and environment friendly food instead of typical makeup.Megan Koriat
