My name is Laurin and I’m a 21 year old Vancouver native. I grew up a typical Canadian kid, played high level ice hockey for a majority of my life until an injury and doctors orders to give up the dream. Following my surgery, unsure what the future holds. I started working at a bank part time as well as in university, following my father in his footsteps. Until one day, when I was approached by my now agent, Jorge from League Models and my life changed. I was always an artsy kid so it wasn’t too much of an adjustment but the rest is history.

When did you start modelling?
I started modelling on st Patrick’s day 2019
How did you get scouted?
I got scouted just before New Years at celebrities night club in my home down of Vancouver, Canada.
Who are the models you aspire(d) to?
Kit Butler and Alton Mason. They produced incredible work.
What would be your dream modelling job?
would be to a ysl campaign
In an industry that is based on appearances, how do you handle negative comments and rejection?
Honestly being in an industry like this I’ve learned to take everything with a grain of salt. There are so many models now a days that it’s not worth it to try and be something you’re not. I just take it for what it is and go on with it.
From your perspective, how do you think the fashion industry can improve?
Honestly I haven’t been in the industry long enough to say. Since I’ve started the industry has been constantly evolving. Models are getting more diverse, sizes are changing ect. So I think that in 6 months- a year it will look even more different than it does now.
What’s your favourite project/shoot you’ve done so far?
My favourite project I’ve done would have to be the Emporio Armani - stars capsule collection. Amazing clothing and just an all around fun day.
Tell us something we wouldn’t know by looking at your portfolio?
You’d never be able to tell from my portfolio that I’m a huge cat guy, I also love my historical monuments so being around the UK and Europe is truly a joy.
What’s your favourite feature?
it would have to be my cheek bones or my lips
What’s you motto in life.
“everything happens for a reason” and I stand by that 🥂
