Hi I am Ab Sarr I am 23. born raised in Dakar, Senegal and lived there up to my 18th birthday. I then moved to New York City initially for Mechanical Engineering studies which I did for about 3 years.
As far as hobbies goes I enjoy most physical activities whether it’s walking, biking, swimming, climbing or playing most sports . I also enjoy reading and I do not have a favorite genre, I read anything from Greek plays to finance. Most of the books that I read are used books that I thrift.
I also like Walking around cities and trying new foods from different cuisines. It’s pretty exciting because sometimes I find a new food and get addicted to it and other times I find terrible food but it’s always fun to try something new..
When did you start modeling?
I started modeling in February 2019 when I got scouted by my mother agent Demanti st Claire.
How did you get scouted?
I was walking to get a quick meal in the grocery store and this guy followed inside the the store. He then asked me if I was interested in modeling and handed me his business card.
Who are the models you aspire(d) to?
I admire how Naomi has been consistently working, staying creative for decades all the while producing beautiful and inspiring images.
What would be your dream job?
A cologne campaign ad for Paco Rabanne and campaign for Ralph Lauren are two things that I would love to do in my career.
How do I handle negative comments and rejection?
rejection is one of those words that tends to be very emotionally charged. I look at it from a business perspective as much as I can and try to be suitable for as many employers as I can. Sometimes it’s just not a good fit and that’s just that.
Negative comments on the other hands I try to flush it out of my head as quickly as I can to me that’s the best way to deal with it.
How can the industry improve?
I think we can use a little more sincerity in the industry.
Fav project
My first photoshoot was quite memorable, It was a freezing cold early April morning at Riis beach in New York City. I was barefooted with hardly any clothes on. The images came out nice we were able to get some nice photos during the morning’s golden hour and I got to learn a lot about what it is to be a model.
Favorite characteristic?
Being appreciative.
